I got hit with my first big craving since starting my new regime at the weekend. I wanted, no NEEDED chips and as we all know chips are not really the way forward on a healthy eating plan! However I went to my trusty website and hoped against hope that there might be something on there that would even partially satisfy my intense need for chips. And I found them, the wondrous chips that I can eat as many as I like of without having to using my syn points for the day!
- peel and chop your potatoes in to chip shapes
- parboil them for about fiveish minutes
- drain and leave them to dry for a bit
- rough them up a bit so that they form little edges, this is important for crispiness later
- find your wondrous oil spray and spray a baking tray and then your chips
- stick them in the oven for about half an hour on a high heat, think it is about 220C
They aren't quite like normal oven chips, nor are they chippy chips but my word did they do the job. And the fact that I could eat a massive plateful meant that I would forgive them most things! Even G liked them.

It works well with butternut squash too! Or potato wedges if you get bored of chips (as if)
